| Cabot Circus is the name that has been bestowed upon Bristol's new £500 million development. The development is a joint venture between Land Securities and Hammerson and is due to open in the Autumn of 2008. The scheme will have two main retail sections; Quakers Friars and The Circus, and has been anchored by the fact that House of Fraser and Harvey Nichols are signed up for leases once it is opened. Other retailers have also recently been signed up to the venture. These include fashion stores Urban Outfitters, Fat Face, G-Star and All Saints, along with eyewear speclialists Ellis & Killpartrick and Oakley and independent gift retailer Bloomsbury. Keith Stone, the leasing director of Land Securities expects many more retailers to sign up in the coming months: "Bristol has been significantly undershopped. It's a very affluent and prosperous region. There are a lot of retailers you would expect to be in Bristol that are not." As well as retail stores, the site will also feature a 3000 seat, 13 screen Cinema De Lux complex, along with 20 restaurants and cafes. In all, the site occupies an impressive 1 million sq. feet! Expect Based in Bristol to keep you up to date on all the latest moves in to the development as and when they happen. |
